Privacy

Short version:Grove has no accounts, doesn't ask about your kids, and doesn't sell anything. Saved activities live on your device. If you subscribe to our weekly email, we keep your email and ZIP to send you relevant picks — nothing else.

What we collect

  • Saved activities and location preferences: stored in your browser's localStorage. Never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data clears them.
  • Email and ZIP code: only if you subscribe to our weekly newsletter. Used to send you local picks. You can unsubscribe anytime from any email.
  • Anonymous usage analytics:we use PostHog to understand which features get used (e.g. which filters are popular). We don't collect names, children's information, or precise location. PostHog assigns an anonymous ID to your browser; we don't intentionally link it to your email.
  • Submissions to our "List your activity" form: the business details you enter, plus your contact email, used only to review and contact you about the listing.

What we don't collect

  • No accounts, no sign-in, no user profiles.
  • No data about your children's names, ages (beyond the browse-filter you pick, which stays local), schools, or health.
  • No precise GPS location. We work with town names and ZIP codes.
  • No cross-site tracking cookies. No advertising networks.

Third-party services

  • PostHog— anonymous product analytics.
  • Google Maps— displayed on venue pages for directions. Google may set its own cookies when a map loads; see Google's privacy policy.
  • Public venue sources— library, parks, and community calendars we scrape are already publicly available. We don't retrieve any non-public data.

Children's privacy

Grove is a tool for parents and caregivers — children aren't expected to use it directly. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

You can clear your saved activities and location preferences at any time by clearing your browser data. To delete your newsletter subscription or any submission-form data, email [email protected]. California residents may have additional rights (access, deletion, correction) under state law — email us and we'll handle it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. We'll email subscribers when anything important changes.
