We came down to Westfield for a wedding before we moved here and ended up at Mindowaskin Park feeding ducks for an hour, which is roughly how most introductions to this town go. The Memorial Library on East Broad runs storytimes, craft sessions, and a summer reading program that draws kids from neighboring towns. Tamaques is the bigger playground option, with woods and fields worth a real half-day. Echo Lake and Nomahegan sit minutes out for ice skating in winter and trail walks in fall. The downtown lots fill early on Saturdays; the East Broad garage usually has space.
